The countdown in the official website for Gundam Reconguista in G has finally hit zero and it has revealed plenty of new things about the anime from a new PV to the anime’s story and its characters, as well as some of their backgrounds.
The new video revealed would be the anime’s second PV as the first was revealed last March 2014, during the anime's announcement.
The video shows the series’ main Gundam, the G-Self (name still tentative) as well as the main characters, Beruri Zenamu and pirate girl Aiida Reihanton.
The website also unveils the series’ story, which is set during the Reguild Century (RC). The RC is set after the Universal Century UC) which the original 1979 Gundam series was set on, along with Zeta, ZZ, Victory, and Char’s Counterattack. Unlike the UC, the RC is experiencing peace and prosperity.
The story follows Beruri Zenamu, a Capital Guard tasked to defend the Capital Tower, an orbital elevator which links the Earth to space. One day, Capital Tower is attacked by a mysterious mobile suit called the G-Self which featured technology not found in any country in the RC. Beruri manages to capture the G-Self, and when he does, he meets its pilot, the beautiful space pirate, Aiida Reihanton…

The website also announced HG kits for the G-Self, as well as the Grimoire, and both will be released 2014, though no exact release date has been made.
The anime will be directed by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, so fans, harden your hearts and don’t get too attached to some of the characters. He is not nicknamed “Kill’em All Tomino” for nothing. This will be his return to the Gundam series after directing the critically acclaimed Turn A Gundam.
Meanwhile, Akira Yasuda, Ippei Gyoubu, Kimitoshi Yamane will be in-charge of the mechanical design while character design will be manned by Kenichi Yoshida.
Gundam Reconguista in G will premiere in October as part of the Fall 2014 anime season.
