The time has come to draw a conclusion to the Crossbone Gundam X1 build. I admit that it is actually not fully completed due to the application of decals, but I am not really in the mood for it currently. In order not to delay the next project, thus I have to quicky wrap this up.
With regards to the X1, the detailing is superb, with the cockpit and pilot thown in. It was a joy to build this kit being my first Ver.Ka. kit. The accessories are great too, all were depicted in the manga series, with some of the weapons exclusive only to the Crossbone Gundam, thus establishing its own unique identity.
The joints are pretty articulate, being able to pull off a variety of poses. But the downside is that the pvc joints of the limbs are getting loose rather easily. Both arms of my X1 can be pulled out easily. Therefore I have to take extra care when posing it. The fingers are also pretty loose, unable to muster much strength to hold the Pirate Saber. The photo which I have of it holding the Pirate Saber is one of the rare moments that I manged to mount it on the hand without the fingers giving way.
I especially like the design of the cockpit which doubles up as a retractable core fighter. This gimmick was well designed.
In overall, I really like this kit and would have no qualms in recommending to friends to buy the kit. Now the headache will be thinking of a way to exhibit the kit with my other MG kits.
XD

ReplyDeleteThanks. I have not decided yet as the decals are not applied yet. But I currently have a can of semi-gloss finish in my stores XD
Hei gunso, I was wondering if you could pull the core fighter out from the body... Mine is stuck there hahaha. Shame of me.

ReplyDeleteHaha.. Yeah, I encountered the same problem. It took me quite some time to gently pull it out.
Ah I see, so it is indeed a hard one to pull hahaha :D Oh well, might as well to leave as it is now. :D
