Bling Bling! Double header - MG Hyaku Shiki & Gundam Astray Goldframe Amatsu

This particular post is to showcase two of my earlier kits. This two has been completed a a couple of years back when I was just learning about gunpla. Straight build with no painting. Even some of the nib marks are still present. I will try to do some clean up on them once I got time. For now I just want to do a shoot with them as I have just digged them out of storage.
The reason why I want them both together for this shoot is that they both possess a similar trait. They both have gold chrome plated parts, bling bling! I really have a soft spot for these shiny parts. I also have a Shining Gundam Hyper Mode somewhere in storage but that is for another story.

The Bling Bling Duo XD

The Hyaku Shiki from the Gundam Zeta Series
The Hyaku Shiki was assigned to AEUG ace pilot Quattro Bajeena (the incognito Char Aznable - Zeon's "Red Comet" ace from the One Year War). The Hyaku Shiki was painted in a bright, highly distinctive gold paint scheme - ostensibly as a taunt to the Titans to prove that the AEUG could build mobile suits right under their noses - and had a reflective, anti-beam coating. Char would use the Hyaku Shiki as his personal mobile suit until the end of the Gryps Conflict, when it was heavily damaged in a battle against Axis leader Haman Karn's AMX-004 Qubeley in February UC 0088. A second Hyaku Shiki unit was later assigned to the troupe of young new pilots stationed aboard the AEUG's assault carrier Argama during the Neo Zeon War that would immediately follow

Astray Gold Frame Amatsu from the Gundam Seed Astray Series

After seeing combat several times, the Gundam Astray Gold Frame is taken to Orb's Morgenroete facility, where it is completely overhauled and upgraded to the Gold Frame Amatsu. First, its missing arm is replaced by one salvaged from the destroyed Blitz Gundam. The arm proves to be quite a find, because the Blitz Gundam's Mirage Colloid technology is incorporated into the Gold Frame's body. The arm also retains its Phase Shift abilities, and this technology is applied to the entire body. The Gold Frame's damaged head is replaced by a new head equipped with an extra monoeye sensor. Piloted by Rondo Ghina, he uses the upgraded Gold Frame in his plot to play the Earth Alliance and ZAFT against each other for Orb's gain. In the summer of C.E. 71 he is killed in battle by Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second L pilot Gai Murakumo. Afterwards, his twin sister Rondo Mina further upgrades the suit to the Gundam Astray Gold Frame Mina Custom.

  1. Well you know, I kinda waiting whether Bandai would release a revised version of Hyaku Shiki like they did with ZZ Gundam.

I also wished for that too although I think Bandai is preoccupied with releasing kits from other series right now. XD

  3. I think Hyaku Shiki is really cool and I will go for it to put it beside Delta Plus.

  5. I would say the the first MG of Hyaku Shiki turns out to shiny compared to original mecha and thus i decided to get Ballute version instead. However the gold parts on Amatsu doesn't look that bad for some reason compared to Hyaku Shiki.

The shiny gold parts are the main reason why the two of them are one of my favourites in my collection XD
